“I prefer dangerous freedom over peaceful slavery.” ~Thomas Jefferson, letter to James Madison, January 30, 1787
During the September 12 Democrat Presidential Debate, candidate Beto “Soy Boy” O’Rourke boldly threatened that if he were elected president, “Hell yes, we’re going to take your AR-15!” By so pledging, he was signaling that he was not content with Jefferson’s preference for dangerous freedom, but instead, he preferred to subjugate us to slavery. The “peaceful” part is TBD.
In the week since uttering those words, I’ve read with amusement the chiding he’s taken from other Democrats, particularly party elders, who fear his “radical” position on gun control may threaten the party writ large. Here’s the rub. The objections aren’t over his position per se, rather, the party elites are worried his statement about guns could threaten elections and gun control legislation.
You see, the real reason Democrat graybeards aren’t disagreeing with Robert Francis’s confiscation plan itself is…well…because they agree with him. Beto’s Blunder was speaking openly and honestly about what they ALL want. Apparently, Beto forgot that the first rule of the Democrat Party Gun Confiscation Club is you do not talk about the Democrat Party Gun Confiscation Club.
When Democrats mention gun control, especially when they decorate it with words like ‘commonsense’ or ‘meaningful control,’ what they always mean is ‘CONFISCATION.’
Always. One hundred percent of the time. Make no mistake about it.
Gun control legislation is always incremental and designed – intentionally — to fail. Yes, you read that right. Democrats pass gun control laws, almost always in some bi-partisan venue with willing, spineless Republican support, with the full knowledge they will fail. They want people to violate gun control laws so they can drive their way toward the ultimate prize: confiscation.
Virtually every mass shooting in the last couple decades has had one signature feature: the shooters have violated one or more gun control laws to commit their murders. At some point in time, Democrats will throw their hands up in the air in feigned frustration (with a heaping, healthy dose of ‘think of the children!’) and scream, “We’ve done everything we can. Now we MUST take guns off the street!”
Beto’s Blunder was that he screamed first and didn’t wait for the signal from his party handlers. His premature exclamation, while befitting his petulant Soy Boy status, was uttered with the desire that burns in every leftist’s heart: gun confiscation. Trust me, Democrats salivate over such a dystopia, an America where only tyrannical, big-government thugs have guns and the masses are unarmed and malleable to their whims.
Confiscation is about control over every single aspect of our lives. Never forget this is the same party that regulates your table salt, what type of straw you drink from, how large your Big Gulp cup may be, whether you can use Styrofoam for your takeout orders, as well as the big things like your healthcare.
Confiscation is a form of slavery that is not even remotely possible while we still possess the means to fight back. Thomas Jefferson called it peaceful slavery, but I suspect it won’t be peaceful at all. Take a look back over the past century where tyrannical regimes confiscated guns and then proceeded to murder their own people. Over 100 MILLION souls were sacrificed in the name of Communism alone.
“What country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance. Let them take arms.” ~Thomas Jefferson, letter to James Madison, December 20, 1787
The only thing standing between these jackbooted punks and your next breath is your gun. Jefferson knew that well and warned Madison accordingly. Madison, the architect of the Constitution, no doubt had that in mind when crafting the Bill of Rights and the Second Amendment.
Never, ever, surrender the freedoms our Founding Fathers painstakingly worked so hard to enshrine in the Constitution. Never, ever, surrender your firearms.
Colonel Michael (“Mike”) Angley is retired from the United States Air Force, a published thriller author, and a conservative writer who fashions himself as Attila the Hun with a laptop. Mike wrote for Andrew Breitbart’s Big Government and Big Peace blogs before the Breitbart consolidation, receiving superb feedback and kudos for typically weaving in pop culture references with his far right perspectives. He enjoys writing about military affairs, national security issues, and politics and is an avid Second Amendment advocate. When he’s not writing, he’s busy annoying liberals with FaceBook posts and Twitter tweets that point out the obvious flaws and fallacies of the left.
During his 26-year USAF career, the Colonel was a Special Agent with the Office of Special Investigations (OSI). The OSI is a sister agency to the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) and has an identical mission that includes felony-level criminal, fraud, and narcotics investigations as well as counterintelligence and counterterrorism operations. His USAF experiences spanned multiple regions around the globe with five command assignments and duties at foreign, regional, theater and national levels.
He is a seasoned counterintelligence and counterespionage officer from the Cold War era, and if you ask him he’ll tell you the spy-vs-spy days were indeed the heady, glory era of espionage. During the latter half of his career he focused on counterterrorism missions in the Middle East and the Far East and operationalized many of today’s concepts for this unique arena while working the sand dunes of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and a few other “choice” locations. When Colonel Angley retired in 2007, he was a Senior Supervisory Special Agent and was in command of all worldwide OSI matters at Air Force Space Command in Colorado Springs, CO.
Mike Angley is also a published, award-winning author of three thriller novels in the “Child Finder” trilogy. His debut novel, “Child Finder,” received a glowing review from the Library Journal which placed it on its Summer Reading list in 2009. “Child Finder” and its companion sequel novels all won various awards from the Military Writers Society of America (MWSA) and the Public Safety Writers Association. In 2012, Mike was named MWSA’s “Author of the Year,” largely for work on his third novel, “Child Finder: Revelation.”
