A Second Civil Rights Battle Being Waged
By Nina May
There is something uncomfortably familiar with the way Democrats, leftists, socialists and communists … sorry to be redundant … view liberty.
At the end of Civil War, which was fought by the Democrats to keep slavery alive in the South, they refused to accept defeat.
After the election of Donald Trump in 2016, the offspring of this slave supporting mentality, refused to accept defeat. They immediately began working to over-turn the election results, ignoring, even mocking the portion of the Constitution that outlines the purpose of the Electoral College in presidential elections.
After the defeat of the Confederacy by the Union, and reconstruction began, the Democrats refused to abide by the very lenient, tolerant rules of engagement that allowed them back into the political fray. They only had to denounce their previous, anti-Union positions in order to receive full amnesty.
But, within two years of the end of the war, the Democrats started their terrorist arm of the their party, known as the KKK.
The purpose of the KKK was to intimidate newly elected slaves from voting, participating in society, expressing their views, getting an education and basically terrorizing them into silence.
Today, the terrorist arm of the Democrat party, wears black instead of white, erroneously refers to themselves as “anti-fascists” when their tactics are lifted straight from the writings of Marx, Lenin and yes, even Hitler.
The Democrats in the post-civil war period, instituted Jim Crow laws to keep blacks from voting because at that time every black was a Republican because their great liberator … Lincoln … was a Republican.
Today, the Democrats refuse to support voter ID at the polls, have moved for weeks and weeks of early voting, motor voter, the ability to register to vote without an ID, on the day of elections, all while screaming, their voting rights are being denied.
What is being denied is an equal access to the polls where one person, one vote is the law of the land … yet they still complain when they lose an election. Democrats of old solved that problem by requiring literacy tests and poll taxes to keep black Republicans from voting.
The Democrats of the late 19th and early 20th century were successful in segregating society, establishing black ghettos where they were not allowed to emerge. To do so would result in physical abuse, lynchings, false claims in kangaroo courts, to the point that they finally stopped trying to integrate and built their own very successful communities.
The Democrats today have launched a new civil war of ideas where anyone, of any color, who disagrees with them are relegated to a specific ghetto that they have falsely named. They have branded those in disagreement with them as racists, homophobes, islamophobes, white-supremacists … even if they are black … and they have hired the media to be the overseers of this virtual plantation of intolerance.
If you dare cross the liberal line, speak for yourself, embrace liberty, individuality, patriotism and a faith in something greater than yourself, you are brought to the town square and publicly flogged.
If you support the youth in Hong Kong, fighting for their liberty, patterning their struggle with that of the United States that battled the crown for freedom … you are marginalized and ridiculed.
If you dare wear a MAGA hat into a restaurant, the days of the Woolworth counter protests come to mind when blacks were not allowed to come into establishments like that. They were yelled at, mocked, spit at and basically dehumanized to justify the position of the oppressors.
We are in a second Civil Rights movement, which ironically has leading the opposition to free speech, a group that at one point, probably served a noble cause. The Southern Poverty Law Center is now doing the bidding of the plantation owner, identifying and rounding up the malcontents who would dare question their master. They are targeted by the state as an enemy of the state and they have no recourse since … well the state is the state and only it can hand out the bowls of tax exempt soup to the slaves of the state.
So, what was it that finally turned the civil rights movement around, acknowledging that this backward thinking by the Democrats was not healthy for the country? Was it when the nation could see the draconian efforts by the Democrat governors to keep little black children from attending school? Was it when these same governors and sheriffs turned the firehoses on the crowds, and unleashed the dogs of oppression on helpless people? Was it when a brave black woman dared to sit in the wrong section of the bus that symbolized a desire for unfettered integration?
Perhaps the same concept of visuals is beginning to play out in America today, forcing people to take sides on the two teams of Freedom or Oppression.
To see the incredible vitriol against a fun, charming white woman, like Ellen Degeneres, just because she sat with a black man (work with me on the analogies here) … shows what camp the intolerant left is in.
To hear that same outcry of “inappropriate” when a black judge hugs a white woman and gives her a Bible, from those same people, reinforces for many what team they are playing for, and suggests that the gentling of society is more than welcome.
When the brother of the man who was shot, asks to hug the woman who shot him, telling her she needs Jesus … there was an amazing rift in the universe that suggested, there is hope for the nation. But within minutes, the same leftist trolls ridiculed the act as a stunt as they said when Martin Luther King would kneel and pray in public.
But, the world was watching … like they watched the firehoses, the arrests at the lunch counters, and the peaceful demonstrations by blacks who only wanted what the constitution and the government had already guaranteed them … equal rights.
The conservatives today, are in a new civil rights movement which is a philosophical divide and even conservative blacks are experiencing the same, exact discrimination they had to live through 50 years ago.
When someone involved with a sports team, is told he can’t hold a sign that says, “Fight for Freedom,” it is not hard to tell what side of history that oppressive group will fall on.
The MAGA hat-burning crowd are a reflection of their ancestors who gathered around the burning crosses, summoning ancient rituals of supremacy that are alive and well in the Democrat party. Like their ancestors, they are signaling that they are superior, more worthy, and certainly deigned to be the ruling class over those deemed unworthy.
In this new battle for civil rights, which side of history will you fall on and will your progeny see you yelling at an old woman in a walker, calling her a NAZI? Will they see you telling customers to leave your place of business because of … not the color of their skin … but the content of their character? Will they see video of you beating an innocent reporter, carrying violent and hate-filled signs, burning and pillaging private property, or punching someone you disagree with?
The history is ours to write … will you be on the left or right? Will you be wrong or right … and most of all, will the freedoms, that allowed this debauchery, be taken from you because you misunderstood what freedom and liberty are. Liberty is not license, it certainly isn’t free but … it’s worth the fight.
